My group used the 4 natural elements. Air, water, earth, and I am fire and sun. This is a coil pot so you can see all the elements and it stands out. I used a lot of different colors to pop out some elements. I wanted two flames and added red in the crevices to stand out against the yellow and pop.  I made the fire first by starting with a spiral triangle overlapping it with more coils and making the tip of it sharp. I made the sun with a big spiral coil and glazed it a bright yellow so you notice it first against the spiral triangles around it. The rim and handle are supposed to be a rope something that can easily get caught on fire.  I am very happy that I was able to do this I am proud and I did my best. I hope that next time I can keep the colors from bleeding on to each other.

My two hollow pinch pots are these monsters I made. Both the head and body are hollow. It was very difficult to make the body since I have never made it before but it was a learning experience I liked. It was fun choosing the colors that would best bring out the texture of the project. I really like the eyes and how the lines I made into it brought out the blue color. As well as the tongue I put a lot of detail into it. I do wish I had put more layers of the blue since it was a little splotchy.  I could have made the carves deeper so it would be easier to do it and I could do them first instead of last. I do overall, and I am very happy with it it kind of reminds me of my sister and how silly we can be and that makes me happy!

Unified Bowl Set

The bowls are based on a song by Lil peep called Lil Kennedy, the song talks about people using him and wanting to be him but when they get to know him they change and take advantage of him. His lyric " Leave some liquid for the centipedes, they eat away my memory Feed me to my enemies, Lead me to death" had inspired me to make these bowls and I wanted to have a remembrance of him as his anniversary of his death was recent Nov 15 it has now been 8 years since he passed . I used sgraffito to mark the centipedes and spiders onto the bowl, the centipedes is actually Lil peeps tattoo.  As well as slip trailing to create unity on both bowls. The layered glazes where made to fit the colors of the album he has. I do wish that on the bowl with spiders I craved more deeply and made it stand out more so it looked more unified with the other bowl. Over all I am very pleased with the result of theses bowls.

Glaive Shrine

My shrine is about Glaive he is a singer who I idolize quiet a lot. This album I chooses is "May It Never Falter" . This album has had many effects on my life it had came out when I was in a very vulnerable time in my life and made me look at things very differently. I went to the concert for this album and the emotions I had felt while I was listening to these songs that had such a big impact on me was something I wanted to hold on to, The colors of the shrine is the colors from the album I am very happy to how my glaze layering came out. As well as my slip trailing and the stars and heart I carved out. The yellow painting also matches with the jacket and the quote he has on it that pretty much entails what his album is about. Overall I am very happy with this outcome and will hang it around all my other memories.

That is what I thought, and that is why I said it.

But do not grieve over this; I myself have caused it to end this way.

And may God grant you, my son, that you do not inherit our happiness.

Now do as your mother wishes; I have longed for my head to rest in her lap.
